Only In New America

Received via e-mail:

UAFF.us

1) Only in the New America could the people who believe in balancing the budget and sticking by the country’s Constitution be thought of as “extremists.”

2) Only in the New America could people claim that the government still discriminates against black Americans when we have a black President, a black Attorney General, and roughly 18% of the federal workforce is black while 12% of the population is black.

3) Only in the New America could we have had the two people most responsible for our tax code, Timothy Geithner, the head of the Treasury Department and Charles Rangel who once ran the Ways and Means Committee, BOTH turn out to be tax cheats who are in favor of higher taxes.

4) Only in the New America can we have terrorists kill people in the name of Allah and have the media react by fretting that Muslims might be harmed by the backlash.

5) Only in the New America would we make people who want to legally become American citizens wait for years in their home countries and pay tens of thousands of dollars for the privilege while we discuss letting anyone who sneaks into the country illegally just become American citizens.

6) Only in the New America could rich politicians talk about the greed of the rich job creators at a $25,000 a plate campaign fund raising event.

7) Only in the New America could you need to present a driver’s license to cash a check or buy alcohol, but not to vote.

8) Only in the New America could people demand the government investigate whether oil companies are gouging the public because the price of gas went up when the return on equity invested in a major U.S. oil company (Marathon Oil) is less than half of a company making tennis shoes (Nike).

9) Only in the New America could the government collect more tax dollars from the people than any nation in recorded history, still spend a trillion dollars more than it has per year for total spending of $7 million PER MINUTE … and complain that it doesn’t have nearly enough money.

10) Only in the New America could the rich folks who pay 86% of all income taxes be accused of not paying their “fair share” by the increasing percentage of people (47%) who pay NO income taxes at all.

Presidential Gall

To my Democrat-voting friends,

Please.  Tell me how you vote for such a hypocrite.  Watch this man’s absolute insolence at 2:06.  Clearly he even has a problem with the number of kids the man has.  Will Chinese style eugenics be next on the list?

Thank you to the Don Smith Show for exposing this hypocrisy!

Irony: Bales vs. Hasan

Received via e-mail; author unknown…

Think about this!!!!!!!!!

After reading the headlines today about the US soldier who shot up Afghanistan civilians, I couldn’t help noticing an irony.  There is all this clamor to try this guy quickly and execute him, never mind his having suffered a traumatic brain injury.

Yet this Major Hasan, who shot up Fort Hood while screaming Allah akbar, still hasn’t stood trial, and they are still debating whether he was insane, even with the clear evidence regarding his motive: slay as many infidels as possible.  So we have a guy in a war zone who cracks, and he must be executed immediately.

But this Muslim psychiatrist who was stateside in a nice safe office all day, murders 13, wounds 29 of our own guys, and then tries to argue the poor lad suffered post-traumatic stress syndrome… …from listening to real soldiers who had actual battle experience.

Two and a half years later, they still haven’t tried the murderous bastard.

Nobody is defending Bales here; we just see the media and government hypocrisy in dealing with a Muslim Terrorist vs an American Soldier.

Outrage A Fluke; Hypocrisy Real

Warning: Uncensored Language.

Betty Ann McCaskill, Claire’s Momma, was so outraged at Rush Limbaugh’s verbal abuse of Sandra Fluke that she… …she… …asked for money. “Now he’s made me mad!” said she.  So buck up $5.00 and she’ll rid the world of the Republican War On Women.  Republican War On Women?

You mean Bill Maher, the Democrat voter, who called Sarah Palin a cunt and a dumb twat.  Momma McCaskill, will you forward me your letter of outrage when your favorite Liberal misogynist verbally abused a wildly popular Governor.  Are you going to raise money to stop Bill Maher’s Democrat “war on women”?

Or, how about Ed Schultz, the Democrat voter, who called Laura Ingraham a talk slut?  Please forward me your letter of outrage railing against MSNBC and “his out-of-control nasty mouth”.

Here’s the latest Democrat prostitution of a woman to raise money and fortify their power:

Don’t Let Republicans Wage War on Women – Click Here to Contribute [link removed]

Now he’s made me mad.

Rush Limbaugh has never been someone I paid much attention to. But you can’t call my daughter, or any woman, that!

When Rush Limbaugh attacked my daughter and law student Sandra Fluke last week, I saw red. I feel for that young lady’s mother. But I bet she’s proud of her daughter’s willingness to stand up for her rights.

Somebody please send me a link where Rush Limbaugh “attacked my daughter”.  I’ve searched the Interwares and nada example I find.

Can you give $5 to help fight back against Rush and his anti-women assault? [link removed]

I have been working for women’s rights all my life, and brought up my three daughters and a son to believe that every human being deserves respect, dignity, and equality.

And at 83, I can honestly say that I’ve seen real change when it comes to women’s rights. But in the last few weeks it has become obvious that some want to walk back the progress women have made in this country.

Rush Limbaugh and his out-of-control nasty mouth is part of the problem. But it is much bigger than even his mouth.

Please don’t let the Republicans have their

way on this. Don’t let them wage war on women.

Show them that we know how to defeat them by making a contribution to Claire’s campaign today. [link removed]

Nothing will bother this old boys club more than a strong independent thinker like Claire being reelected.

I thought after 40 years of progress this wouldn’t be an issue any more. Unfortunately, it seems that I’ve thought too highly of Republican Party leaders.

Please help Claire put these anti-women Republicans in their place with a $5 contribution:

This is an incredibly important moment for women, and we need you on our side.

Thank you for your continued support of my daughter,

Betty Anne McCaskill

Claire, you and your Momma feign outrage; we know it’s just a fluke.  But your hypocrisy is fully transparent and real.  Of course, I doubt there’s a Conservative within earshot of the Internet that believes that you actually penned that letter.

Clearly the vile Bill Maher, Ed Schultz and The View, supporters of Democrats, represent the views of Missourians, so we should certainly re-elect you to the Senate.

Dear Mr. Friend

(Received via e-mail.  Adapted for use)

March 4, 2012

David Friend

Co-Founder and CEO Carbonite

177 Huntington Avenue

Boston, MA 02115

Dear Mr. Friend,

I read about your intention to pull your advertising from the Rush Limbaugh show due to his remarks about Sandra Fluke while lobbying for free contraceptives.

It is not unreasonable to conclude that the primary reason for a woman to use contraceptives is so that she can have sex without getting pregnant. To need $3,000 worth of contraceptives would suggest that the individual plans on having a lot of sex. According to the American Heritage Dictionary:

Slut n. 1.a. A woman considered sexually promiscuous.

Was Mr. Limbaugh’s choice of words excessive? I would say so. However the subject was sex and contraception. Could he have used words more artfully to make the same point? I would say yes.

That brings me to another program that you sponsor, The Ed Schultz Show. On Schultz’s show he called conservative commentator Laura Ingraham a right wing slut. Let me quote Mr. Schultz. “But you know what they’re talking about: Like this right wing slut. What’s her name Laura Ingraham? Yeah, she’s a talk slut…”

Where’s the outrage there Mr. Friend? Is it acceptable to you to call a professional woman a slut if it is merely a pejorative? How is it overstepping any reasonable bounds of decency to refer to a woman who is lobbying for free contraceptives, a woman considered sexually promiscuous, but perfectly fine as a smear for someone’s opinion with which you disagree ?

Why haven’t you pulled your advertising from that cretin’s show? As I am a strong believer in liberty, I say you have a right to purchase advertising time anywhere you wish. Similarly, I can buy whatever products that I wish and when my Carbonite subscription expires, I will not be renewing it if you place on the same playing field a somewhat crude but not inaccurate term to describe one woman with a baseless slur of another.

As you have encouraged your fellow advertisers to withdraw their ads, I will encourage my network of contacts to dump your product “to contribute to a more civilized public discourse.”

Sincerely yours,

Brian D. Bollmann

Is it Easy to Visit Our State Capitol?

From the desk of Missouri State Senator Brian Nieves:

One of the things I think all senators and representatives look forward to is when actual “real people” — folks from back home — come to visit us. My office is one where constituents are welcomed and encouraged to visit, BUT, unfortunately, there are certain segments of our population who have difficulty doing so. Why? In addition to the challenges inherent to a building that is more than 100 years old, we also have the challenge of limited parking. Our Capitol building houses 163 representatives and 34 senators, as well as multiple members of the executive branch. On any given day, there are many, sometimes hundreds, of visitors who need to visit with their elected officials and have their voices heard. Over the last 10 years, I’ve become increasingly upset to see persons with disabilities, particularly those who became disabled in the service of our great nation, having to park blocks from the Capitol and travel long distances to get to the building! I have, on multiple occasions, quietly filed legislation to correct this problem by changing the way parking is reserved at our Capitol, but have received little or no support. You may wonder why our politicians would resist fixing this obvious problem and I’ll tell you why… The only way to expand handicap parking is to reduce or eliminate the premium, reserved parking held for members of the press. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard legislators indicate they’re unwillingness to “tangle” with or get in to a battle of sorts, with the press! Legislators are, with good reason, afraid to upset the press and typically try to avoid doing so. Why? Very simple, have you ever heard the old adage, “Never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel?” There is a very, very good reason that adage is so well known and I can tell you from personal experience that when you tangle with the press, it gets ugly! Several members of the press have written ugly, insulting and downright attacking articles, editorials, and opinion pieces in the recent days since I filed my expansion of handicap parking bill. Two reporters have written “hit pieces” about me filing my parking fix that are so ugly that many people read them and immediately called me to express how sad they were to see members of the press act like such bullies! One reporter’s article was entitled, in big bold print, “Nieves is an Embarrassment” and it only got worse from there. Both of these so called “news reporters” had not written anything about me for a long time but WHAM! As soon as I file a bill to replace the press parking with handicap parking, they suddenly feel the need to attack, attack, attack! Do I feel like a victim? Not at all. Do I feel intimidated by the obvious attempts to bully and cajole? Not at all. Will I be forced by the press to sit silent while our disabled veterans have to trek to the Capitol from two blocks away so that healthy, able bodied members of the press park right up front? Never!

h/t mo.govLet me share a story and answer some of the reporters’ attacks… Recently, I had the honor of hosting visitors from back home. One of these visitors was a man who, at 70 years of age, has seen more combat in the service of our Republic than you or I could imagine in our worst nightmare. He is a disabled combat veteran and is highly decorated for valor, but guess what? You got it, no handicap parking! On that very day, I introduced SB 694 to correct the injustice he and countless members of our disabled community have endured while trying to visit their Capitol. To answer the reporters… Did I introduce the bill with a bit of fire? Yes! Did I call out the press? Yes! Was I understandably upset about what had happened to my constituent, a true American hero, that day? Yes! Am I sorry for not acting more “Senatorial” in my introduction? No! I am tired of milquetoast politicians ruling the day and will not be counted among them, if that upsets members of the press, so be it. One of the reporters is a veteran and I honor his service but why, why won’t he stand up and do what is right? Why does he attack me for simply trying to right a wrong? Is his dislike for me so strong that he can’t see past me to the issue at hand? I’m here every day of session and I know there are not enough handicap parking spots. I also know it is wrong for a private, for-profit industry to be granted free parking while our disabled veterans park two blocks away. I call upon these reporters to withdraw their fight against me and this rightful bill and endorse my plan to give more access to folks with disabilities and particularly our disabled vets. I will also mention that both these reporters asked me to give up my parking and I’d like to remind them both of something they already know, but failed to mention. My parking is in a secured underground area that is a long walk from the Capitol! Giving up my spot does nothing for disabled folks because they’d still be traveling just as far, but press parking is right up close! These reporters know they are wrong and I will gladly work hand-in-hand with them to work out a “parking fix” that will still allow them a spot, but not at the expense of allowing easy access to those who truly need it. To the reporters — I’m sure I will never look, act, speak, have the demeanor, or carry myself in a manner that is pleasing to you but it’s time to put our differences aside and fix this! My phone number is (573) 751-3678 and I’ll be eagerly awaiting your call.

So, here are some of the attacks on Senator Nieves that he mentions:

Here is the story by the emissourian.com.

Here is one from stltoday.com complaining about American’s First Amendment rights to petition (lobby) their government.

Here is the ‘Embarrassment’ piece he mentions in the emissourian.com that also complains about the First Amendment right to petition their government.  Ironic that they bring up the $500 in World Series tickets – information that’s available because of the transparency laws that created an atmosphere for ALL citizens to watch their government.. …and not just trust the left-wing press.

708,000 More Unemployed In January = Dip In Unemployment Rate?

When I see BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics), why do I think BLS = Bulls**t?

This week, the Obama apologists in the Main Stream Media trumpeted the BLS report that the Unemployment Rate dipped to 8.3%.

Then, the new/real media (bloggers and Santelli ) started looking into the numbers and wondering why 1.2 Million Americans suddenly dropped out of the labor force.  Check here and here and here.

The bottom line is the answer to the question, “How many people are unemployed?”  And, in the Bureau of Labor Statistics own figures, you can find pretty easily (if you believe this number) that the number of Unemployed went UP by 708,000.

h/t bls.gov

As far as the masseuses and contortionists that converted an increase of 708,000 in unemployed Americans to a dip in the Unemployment Rate, “These are not the droids you are looking for.”
