Why Ban Foreign Laws?

Citizens and legislators that wish to ban the use and application of Foreign Laws in U.S.Federal and State Courts have been derided and decried as racist xenophobes.

In Missouri, at least to legislators have introduced such legislation Here is the text of one of the bills.

Islamophobia, Racism, Xenophobia!  The 3 favorite Cards of the Left!

From the Kansas City Star, “This is an attack on Islam and clearly an Islamophobia bill,” said Jamilah Nasheed, a St. Louis Democrat who is Muslim. “It’s a bill that’s being pushed by ignorant people that know nothing about Islam.”

And, from the Boston Herald, “An attorney for the St. Louis chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations said the U.S. Constitution already prohibits religion from being used as a basis for laws.

“It’s a political stunt being done to fan the flames of intolerance, nothing more,” attorney Jim Hacking said.

Yes, Curtman and his allies are clearly wrong to think that a Missouri court might consult religious law or other foreign law to decide cases.  There is certainly no evidence of that.

From Human Events, “On March 3, Hillsborough Circuit Judge Richard Nielsen announced that he would decide the case by consulting shari’a law to determine whether the arbitration was conducted properly, and should therefore be binding.  Only if his adventure in Islamic scholarship determines the arbitration was invalid will he revert to using Florida civil law to determine the ultimate outcome of the case.”

Only AFTER looking at Shari’a law will the judge apply Florida Civil Law?!?!?

And, from our Supreme Court Justices…

Supreme Court

In USA Today, “Writing for the majority in a landmark decision supporting gay civil rights, Justice Anthony Kennedy noted that the European Court of Human Rights and other foreign courts have affirmed the “rights of homosexual adults to engage in intimate, consensual conduct.””

In the Huffington Post, “Breyer said there are those who complain about the high court potentially looking at what other countries do when they are resolving cases involving U.S. law.

“I say that’s a wonderful political debate. It’s good, but it’s pretty irrelevant because when I do read things, I can read what I want,” Breyer said.

If judges in another country with similar laws have a similar case, a judge should be able to consider how they solved it, Breyer said in remarks at the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies.

Clearly, there is plenty to worry about from our Supreme Court down to State Level courts.  Yes, Missourians should fear the activism of jurists on many counts, and kudos to the Missouri Legislators who have the foresight to fight this problem proactively!

The Headline Will Be “Tea Party Activist Behind Spokane MLK Bomb”

Definition of nanosecond:

The amount of time that passes between the breaking news on the arrest of the Spokane (attempted) MLK Day bomber and when the Left Wing Media blames it on the Tea Party / Conservatives / Republicans.  The headline will be “Tea Party Activist Behind Spokane Bomb” before we know his name or affiliations.

If there is a scintilla of connection to the right,  like,  he attended church once, it’s going to be yet another bombing attempt by an out-of-control right wing extremist — although we’ve yet to see the first bombing attempt by a Tea Partier.

Unlike the Left (ala Jared Loughner), the Right will not try to analyze the bomber.  The Right will not make excuses for the bomber.  The Right will not empathize with the bomber.

The Right will condemn the bomber, and many will hope for the death penalty!

Wishing Death On Glenn Beck

Somehow, your humble blogger started receiving e-mails from a left-wing T-Shirt maker called T-Shirt Hell.  Their shirts were somewhat amusing, but now they’ve upgraded their left-wing civil rhetoric to wishing death upon Glenn Beck.

Beyond the racist and despicable nature of the advertised T-Shirt, the site owner decides to jump into the deep end of the hate-filled rhetoric against Glenn.

Here’s the e-mail:

Certainly T-Shirt makers like to be controversial, but upping the rhetoric to wishing death would bring a full barrage of vitriol from the Lame Stream Media if the death wish had been made toward an Ed Schultz or a Chris Matthews!

Hypocrite much?

Have the Republicans yet figured out how pathetic it was to fall into the Democrats new era of civility canard?

Face it folks; the racism and hate is squarely on the shoulders of the Left.

My Parents Went To The Tucson Memorial Service…

…and all I got was this T-Shirt:

With continued prayers for the further healing of Gabrielle Giffords and the others injured this past Saturday, with prayers for their families and loved ones, we must re-focus our efforts on the world at hand and the upcoming votes in the newly Republican-led House of Representatives.

Here is a link to a letter on the American’s For Prosperity website that I ask you to forward to your Representative and Senator.  Sign up with AFP to stay up-to-date on current legislation and action needed to get our Federal Government headed in the right direction.

Now back to our regularly scheduled Memorial, I mean, Campaign Event.  The outlandish actions of the attendees and organizers of the Memorial Service in Tucson, AZ on 1/12/11 are reverberating through the country today.   From a “Together We Thrive” T-Shirt for all, to raucous yelling and hooting during the service, to booing the Arizona Governor, the attendees brought shame on the event and the country.

Lefties like Media Matters are trying to downplay the usage of a Memorial Service for a Campaign Event by, once again, attacking Right Leaning radio, pundits, and news services.  But, again, right-minded (clear-minded) folks will be polled and assess the event as yet another tragic exploitation of a Memorial much like that of Paul Wellstone.

While the President’s speech was mostly eulogistic, he did break out his oratorical skills to raise the pitch of the adulation from already frenzied to near delirium.  I could almost hear, “4 More Years” echoing through the hall.

And to those that booed at Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, you are scum for further denigrating the event in honor of fallen families, heroes, and citizens.

But, the President couldn’t help himself from raising the ire of your humble blogger.

I quote, “If this tragedy prompts reflection and debate — as it should — let’s make sure it’s worthy of those we have lost. (Applause.) Let’s make sure it’s not on the usual plane of politics and point-scoring and pettiness that drifts away in the next news cycle.”

The President’s words scold both Right and Left for their actions following the death and injury of those involved.  Yet, the vitriol so decried was clearly initially advanced by the Left against Tea Party, Radio, TV, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity.  And, the simple defense against these unfounded accusations has been used as evidence for guilt (further accusations of vitriol) by the left.

I have yet to hear someone from the Right convict George Soros, Obama, Chris Matthews, or Keith Olbermann for their over-the-top rhetoric.  I have yet to hear someone blame Mr. Maddow.  I have yet to see Peter Lewis accused.

It doesn’t matter.  Racism, Murder Accomplice, Vitriol, Politically Correct, Class Warfare.  These are the tools of the left, and they will use them at will…

…even at the Memorial of those lost at the tragic events in Tucson, AZ.

Mr. President, don’t you dare scold me for the actions of the people who reside clearly on your side of the aisle!

But what strikes me the most is how the Left is just PRAYING for the white male bomber or killer to be a member of the Right, the Tea Party, a Republican.  From Mayor Bloomberg with the Times Square bomber to anyone who told us not to rush to judgment over the Fort Hood killings… …the left can’t wait until they get their Tea Party Racist Hater Red Meat.

Next Up At The Smithsonian

This out of the Winter Wonderlands:

“This undated [AP] photo provided by Amber Caldwell, shows a snowman that depicts a white hooded figure associated with the Klu Klux Klan in the front yard of Mark Eliseuson in Hayden, Idaho.

Kootenai County sheriff’s deputies told Eliseuson Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010 that he could be charged with a crime because the 10-foot-tall snowman was holding what appeared to be a noose. Deputies were called by neighbors who were appalled by the pointy-headed snowman with two dark eyes”

Will the same Kootenai County sheriff’s deputies be stopping by the Smithsonian to curb the freedom of speech on display there in the Hide/Seek Exhibition.  Will Blake Gopnik approve of Mr. Eliseuson’s display?

Maybe Mr. Eliseuson’s best bet is to drive his hooded snow-man to Washington, DC where it will be proudly displayed at the Smithsonian’s Art Institute.

Mr. Eliseuson’s display is certainly not one I would put up in my yard, and neither would I run a video of and ant-covered crucifix.  But, it is certainly his right under the First Amendment to erect such a display!

Would the Kootenai County sheriff’s deputies and Blake Gopnik approve if Sarah Palin was hung in Eliseuson’s noose?

Would the Kootenai County sheriff’s deputies and Blake Gopnik approve if George Bush was hung in Eliseuson’s noose?

Would the Kootenai County sheriff’s deputies and Blake Gopnik approve if Barack Obama was hung in Eliseuson’s noose?

Bottom line.  While disgusting, Eliseuson has the same free speech and expression rights as the Smithsonian!

It’s a hate crime?  Read the the last sentence of Section 1 of the 14th Amendment.

Al Sharpton and the Liberal State Run Media have been touting the racist nature of the Restoring Honor rally long before it ever started and are continuing that meme since it ended.  It’s my understanding that there were more blacks at the Glenn Beck Rally than there were at Al Sharpton’s Reclaiming the Dream rally.  Guess they’re just a bunch of racists too that are hijacking MLK’s dream.

I have noticed that E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. is decried as racist these days, and maybe we need a quick review of some terms in the area of racism:

  • Racism:
    • The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
    • Discrimination or prejudice based on race.
  • Prejudice:
    • An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts.
    • A preconceived preference or idea.
  • Bigotry:
    • The acts of one who is strongly partial to one’s own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.

There it is.  Most of what I see referred to as racism is either Prejudice or Bigotry.  It’s rare that what you see is actually a belief that one race is superior to the other.

And, the only ones I see exhibiting racism are those on the left:

  • Al Sharpton
  • Sonia Sotomayor
  • Harry Reid
  • Joe Biden
  • Reverend Jeremiah Wright

All have well documented examples of racism, prejudice, or bigotry.

I ask my readers to reply with comments of the vast right wing list of racists and racial activities over the past 4 years.  I hope I get at least ONE example… …other than the dude that made up the ‘getting around Washington on 8/28’ document.

In 1986, Racism Is A-Okay

Rick Sanchez and Dan Abrams went on an on about the treatment of Shirley Sherrod by Fox News, Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly, and Andrew Breitbart.  Paraphrased… …these scummy right-wingers should never have called on Shirley Sherrod to resign based on the heavily edited video on Breitbart’s… …even though the video was not edited by any of these personalities and O’Reilly qualified his call for her resignation based on the validity of the video he had seen.

At no point from 7:05 – 7:17pm on July 22, 2010, did Sanchez or Abrams mention THAT IT WAS ABHORRENT TO BE RACIST IN 1986.  Their continued screed against the aforementioned pundits never gave one thought to the fact that in 1986, 22 years after the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Shirley Sherrod executed her charge in a racist manner.  Not only that, she sued the USDA for $13,000,000 and then was given the job to dole out loans to struggling farmers.

Tom Vilsack, CNN, President Obama, MSNBC and a host of other lefties have now chimed in to concur… …24 years ago in 1986, it was just fine with them to be a reverse racist.

So, at what point did it stop being acceptable to be a reverse racist?  Or did it?

As I travel to Las Vegas, I double-down on the call for her resignation!

A Tale of Two Tapes

Shirley Sherrod and the Miscellaneous Nazi were both in the news this week.

Shirley made racist comments to the welcoming NAACP members in a teachable moment on how it was not racism, it was rich vs. poor.  She was relating how a whopping 24 years ago (1986), she was racist in her doling of assistance to the local farmers.  Seven minutes of Shirley’s comments were posted on covering the full context of her story, and somewhere throughout the day, the racist portion of the video gained a life of its own.

Originally, she was fired, but Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has apologized and offered to return her to a job.  (Had she been ‘white’, the left would have got her fired and she never would have had a chance to redeem herself… …but I digress).

Now the left is screaming at, um, everybody for taking the video out of context.

The Miscellaneous Nazi appeared at the 4/14/2010 St. Louis Tax Day Tea Party and was taped by Adam Sharp.  A snippet of Adam’s tape was used by the left-wing-state-run-liberal-media to espouse the mantra that the Tea Party IS RACIST.  43 seconds of video included showing the Nazi twice and surrounding a poster mentioning Glenn Beck in a subliminal effort to associate him with racism.

We’re still waiting for the left-wing-state-run-liberal-media to scream at, um, everybody for taking THIS video out of context – tick tock tick tock.

Such events are wonderful for ‘thinking people’ who have a chance to see the hypocrisy of the left in this Tale of Two Tapes.  The silence on the outright double-standard is deafening.

I Bumped Into Monica

President William Jefferson Clinton delivered the eulogy for Senator Robert Byrd who died at the age of 92 this week.  Whether or not Byrd’s life and service as a Senator is remembered positively, the stain of racism and the KKK follows him after his death.  But, the former President’s laudatory remarks were both laughable and enraging.

“There are a lot of people who wrote these eulogies for Senator Byrd, and the newspapers, and I read a bunch of them. And they mentioned that he once had a fleeting association with the Ku Klux Klan. And what does that mean?” [Emphasis Added]

Fleeting?  Really?  Bill, that’s like saying, “I bumped into Monica.” Or, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.”

Byrd joined the ranks of the KKK when 24 and rose to the top officer of his unit.  Byrd held the titles Kleagle (recruiter) and Exalted Cyclops.  It seems a bit more than a “fleeting association”.  Joining and rising in an organization is more than a “fleeting association”.  That’s all well and good, and Senator Byrd apologized time and again for his “fleeting association”.

But apparently, the feeling, the “a jejune and immature outlook” never left him; well at least not before 1964 when he and the DEMOCRATS filibustered the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  But, wait, he changed his outlook after that bill passed.  Nope.  He again was against the Civil Rights Act of 1965.

“In 2005, Byrd told The Washington Post that his membership in the Baptist Church led to a change in his views. In the opinion of one reviewer, Byrd, like other Southern and border-state Democrats, came to realize that he would have to temper “his blatantly segregationist views” and move to the Democratic Party mainstream if he wanted to play a role nationally”

Good, he was drug kicking and screaming into the mainstream and DID vote for the Civil Rights Act of 1968.

Thanks Bob.

Oh, and the ‘racist’ Republican Party was there supporting Civil Rights… …long before you.
