It Is Time To Unseat Mrs. Emerson From The US House Of Representative.

An Article by David Larson, Jackson, MO:

Representative Jo Ann Emerson needs to worry about her chances in the August 2012, Republican primary.  Of the 103 votes cast in the concluding straw poll at the Cape County Tea Party Candidate Forum on July 17, 2012, Mrs. Emerson received the support of seventeen or 16.5% of those who voted.  Mrs. Emerson did not make an appearance nor did she send someone from her staff to speak at the event.  This speaks volumes to her concerns of the folks who elected her to represent the 8th Congressional District.

On the other hand, Mr. Bob Parker garnered eighty-four of the 103 votes simply by attending and expressing his views to the people present at the Forum.  To put this in terms of percentage, it was 79.6% of the votes cast.

This was a huge difference in support of one candidate over the other.  Mr. Parker, one might conclude, demonstrated his concern for the folks he may someday represent in the US House of Representatives.

The following quote is taken from the Matt Kibble’s book Hostile Takeover: Resisting Centralized Government’s Stranglehold on America, Chapter 5.

  • “Those in power are not only pushing back against the liberation of individual preferences seen elsewhere in society; they are pushing back hard against anyone who wants to be let inside the castle gates, anybody who wants to be part of the process of deciding.  Ensconced inside, the political class seems to be looking down from the castle turrets at the rest of America.
  • Their disdain is palpable.
  • They see unwashed rubes, amateurs who could not possibly understand the complexities of governance.  We are just too simple to understand, not quite smart enough to take care of ourselves on the big issues of the day.  They, the experts have drawn a line in the sand that you, a stakeholder in the American Enterprise, shall not pass.”

Josh Haynes, senior staffer with Emerson’s campaign, was quoted in the Southeast Missourian on July 20, 2012, Emerson fliers attack Parker on drug, terror stances:

“Parker’s logic is flawed and shows a fundamental misunderstanding of how the federal government works.”

As a senior staffer of Team Emerson Campaign, Mr. Haynes words speak directly to the core values of Mrs. Emerson.  From the two quotes above it does not take a “member of the political class” to connect the dots of Mrs. Emerson’s feelings for her employer, the voters in the 8th Congressional District.  One might surmise Mrs. Emerson is a “Washington Insider” (a member of the House of Representatives since 1996) feeling she knows what is best for the people in the her District no matter how the majority in her District feel about a “big issue.”  Sometimes her votes reflect the views’ of the District and sometimes not.  Mrs. Emerson could better serve her constituents by following this guiding Principle of Liberty, “The God-given right to govern is vested in the sovereign authority of the whole people.”

Mrs. Emerson’s surrogates want to link Mr. Parker to a fringe libertarian group, NORML.  The campaign should not go there.  Mrs. Emerson has donated to the campaign of one of the most vile, divisive, “hate speech mongering” member of Congress and the Democratic Party Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz.  All one has to do is follow this link

http://www.fec.gov/finance/disclosure/norindsea.shtml

Type in Emerson Jo Ann, press Get Listing and look for 29935452666.

It is a document on the Federal Election Commission’s website.  It shows Mrs. Emerson as a donor to the Wasserman-Schultz for Congress 2010 US House of Representative Primary campaign in the amount of $218.50.

It is time to unseat Mrs. Emerson from the US House of Representative.

Cape County Tea Party – Primary Candidate Forum

The Cape County Tea Party held a Missouri Primary Candidate Forum on Tuesday July 17th that the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center.  The event was a great success.

The SE Missourian Newspaper provided some nice coverage:

There was talk of smaller government, lower taxes and more than a few jabs were directed at President Barack Obama. Political hopefuls called out for new blood while incumbents touted the value of experience. The name of Ronald Reagan was conjured up more than once and most pledged their eternal support for legislation that was pro-God, pro-gun and pro-life.

And at the end of the night, an irate woman described by one event organizer as a “Democratic operative” had to be escorted to her car by police after confronting Republican congressional candidates Todd Akin and John Brunner.

Minor confrontation aside, Cape Girardeau County Tea Party chairman Brian Bollmann deemed Monday’s 2012 Missouri candidate forum largely a success, though he said he was a bit let down by the five candidates who had agreed to come but didn’t show.

“I wasn’t really irritated, I was slightly disappointed,” Bollmann said. “But overall I was very pleased with how the event turned out.”

In all, the roughly 150 who attended the event at the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center heard from 18 candidates and stand-ins for five others, from major statewide contenders such as Akin and Brunner and secretary of state candidate Shane Schoeller to third-party candidates such as former representative Cynthia Davis, who is running for lieutenant governor under the Constitution Party banner.

At the end of the event, a straw poll was taken.  The CCTP Steering Committee met today at 1:00pm (as they do on all Wednesdays) to tally the results.

Thanks to all the candidates who participated, the excellent audience who attended, and all the hard work of the members of the Cape County Tea Party

Obama’s IRS Goons Now Attacking Tea Party

Reported on Breitbart’s Big Government, the IRS, at the behest of Democrat Senators, is now investigating such operations as ACORN, MORE, Project Vote, Media Matters, George Soros, and Warren Buffett to expose the voter fraud and tax evasion of those organizations.

Wait. No. They’re investigating local Tea Party organizations inquiring on donors’ names, donation amounts, office-seeking Tea Party leaders, and more:

In January and February of this year, the Internal Revenue Service began sending out letters to various local Tea Parties across the country. Mailed from the same Cincinnati, Ohio IRS office, these letters have reached Tea Parties in Virginia, Hawaii, Ohio, and Texas (we are hearing of more daily). There are several common threads to these letters: all are requesting more information from these independent Tea Parties in regard to their nonprofit 501(c)(4) applications (for this type of nonprofit, donations are not deductible). While some of the requests are reasonable, much of them are strikingly onerous and, dare I say, Orwellian in nature.

What are local Tea Partiers to think with requests like “Please identify your volunteers” or “are there board members or officers who have run or will run for office (including relatives)”? What possible reason would the IRS have for Tea Parties to “name your donors” when said donations are non-deductible? These are just a few of the questions asked by the IRS in these letters, and one cannot help but suspect an intrinsic threat encompassing all these demands.

The other question is the timing of these IRS letters requesting reams of copies and hundreds of hours of work and potentially thousands of dollars in accounting/legal fees (all due in two weeks). Some of these Tea Party groups have not received anything concerning their nonprofit status since 2010 prior to these letters.

These documents are further undermined by a letter sent to the IRS Commissioner Shulman. Signed by six Senators, it requests that the commissioner investigate 501(c)(4) groups to determine whether they are engaging in substantial campaign activity, including opposition to any candidate. Who signed this letter? Senators Schumer, Franken, Udall, Shaheen, Whitehouse, Merkley and Bennet — all Democrats.

Could it be that these Senators want the IRS to investigate the nonprofit status of Media Matters and its coordinated political activity with the White House? Or perhaps they are concerned with nonprofit ACORN groups’ record of voter fraud, and other previous campaign abuses including alleged close ties with President Obama’s Project Vote? No, when these Senators sent this letter to the IRS commissioner, the message would be very clear. The 501(c)(4) groups they want investigated are not those with Democratic liberal ties.

Occupy Pepper Spray

The Evil Capitalists Big City Democrat Administrations are cracking down on the #OccupyWherever gatherings across the nation requiring them to move out of their Occupied Parks for reasons of Safety and Health… …and the liberals neighbors are even sick of them.

It’s sad. On many subjects, I wholeheartedly agree with their concerns and issues… …especially crony capitalism.  However, most of them don’t even know that crony capitalism is the real problem – not the free market.

Here are some of my favorite stories about the movement:
